"A Sensual Historical Romance"
Florence comes to London for a season. Her father, the vicar, has died and she only has enough money for one season to find an accommodating husband. She doesn't expect love, only caring and support. She goes to her father's solicitor and is immediately whisked away to a dressmaker. She is amazed to find herself being taken in by an earl's mother for the season. Unknown to the innocent young woman, the earl, Edward Burbooke, is looking for a wife for his younger brother, Freddie, after he was caught in a compromising situation with the footman. One look at Florence and Edward is sure that she would be perfect for Freddie. The only problem is that he falls in lust with her himself and before very long, in love. Freddie is a kind and gentle man and when he proposes to Florence, she readily accepts. Why does she blush whenever Edward touches her? In her innocence, she is unsure how she feels about Edward except that he makes her feel very strange indeed while Freddie is friendly and comfortable. The gossip swirls among the ton of London so they retire to the earl's estate temporarily before the wedding can take place. Freddie is injured while riding his horse so now that pushes Edward and Florence together even more. Emma Holly writes some very sensual love scenes in Beyond Innocence. What else would you expect from an author of
erotica? The sexual tension is palpable and the love
scenes delicious. Her writing and her pacing are excellent
and her hero is very sexy and tormented with passion for
the heroine. The congenial and charming Freddie is a
delightful secondary character. Hopefully the talented
Emma Holly will continue to write more books in the
historical romance genre.
