"A refreshing and enjoyable romance"
THE MIGHTY QUINNS: BRENDAN
Kate Hoffman
Harlequin, Nov 2001, $4.50
ISBN: 0373259557 All women seem to love firefighter Brendan Quinn, who
has quite a reputation among his peers for picking up
females. His novel approach is to lend his jacket to the
woman so he has a reason to see them again when he comes to
pick up his article of clothing. His latest recipient of his jacket ruse is Meggie
Flannagan, a childhood friend. However, this time Brendan
believes he has found the woman of his dreams. He expects
to save a fortune on clothing, but she despises him for
humiliating her in high school. She plans to teach the
Lothario a lesson by seducing him into desiring her before
she discards him. That plan seems perfect until she tries
to execute it, as she still loves this Mighty Quinn. In the sequel to brother Conor's story, THE MIGHTY
QUINNS: BRENDAN is an engaging tale because of the lead
couple. This Quinn is a sex machine who lives on his charm
until he re-meets Meggie who makes him reveal the person
hidden behind the charisma. Though her motive is poor,
Meggie proves to be quite a woman not afraid to risk her
heart. Readers will enjoy this duo's gender battle though
the clash fails to attain the level Kate Hoffman achieved
with the previous tale Harriet Klausner
