"A story with everything a woman wants to read."
After six long years of being a widow, Serena Hamilton
can't stand the loneliness any longer. After a one-night
stand, the guilt sets in for leaving her young son for the
night, but she can't forget the experience. Hunter Fletcher has never been with the same woman twice, a
rule he's made due to his childhood and his job with the
CIA. But the interlude with Serena has rocked both their
worlds and neither could stop thinking about the other. So
when they both show up at the same bar the next night,
hoping the other will be there, they aren't really
surprised. Their relationship takes off way too fast, but Hunter just
can't stay away. When Serena finds out she's pregnant, he
doesn't react the way she'd hoped. Finally coming to his
senses, Hunter realizes he wants to marry Serena and be a
father, if for no other reason than to provide for them.
After some smooth talking, Serena agrees and they're wed. Shortly after the wedding, Serena discovers that Hunter's
secrets are more than she can handle and they separate,
which leaves Hunter wanting a family more than ever. When
he gets shot, Serena realizes that his secrets concern his
job, not him personally, and she rushes to his side. This story is jam-packed with all the things a woman wants
to read. And it's one of the best books I've read in a long
time.

Serena Hamilton has never had a one-night stand, but the
supreme loneliness she feels after the loss of her husband
drives her to a bar and into the arms of a sexy stranger.
Afterward, she's racked by guilt...or at least she knows
she should be. But there's something about her one-time
lover that makes her think they may share more than just
out-of-control chemistry.
Hunter Fletcher isn't a commitment kind of guy, but the
woman he meets at the honky-tonk stirs a new kind of
longing. A covert operative for the CIA, Hunter carries his
share of secrets. But when they intersect with Serena's
tragic past, he fears she won't want to know the truth...or
that once she does, the only woman he's ever loved will
leave him forever.
