"Exciting, hip and funny bounty hunter mystery. Great debut by author who knows his stuff."
When you're Santa Barbara's best bounty hunter, you're
first on everyone's list when somebody needs hauling in for
missing a court appearance. Never a dull moment, the job is
a great way to get blood pumping, meet women and make a
living. Especially when you have bills to pay, a 55-foot
converted fishing boat to keep afloat, and a cat named Futa
to keep in the chow. Still, even the best have hard
days, and Dev Shannon is no different. From Spain to Sturgis, a stop in Montana and the American
Embassy in Paris, Dev has much to do and very little time.
However, he manages to setup and lock up those who would
use him for their own nefarious ends, including the drug
kingpin who murders an old friend of his. With the help of
his retired police officer father, a scuba-diving computer
genius, Google and some fine looking females, he does it
all in style. Exciting and entertaining, this book opens with a bang and
Bob Burton's experience as a bounty hunter shines through.
Dev is so real he might be standing in the same room with
you, letting you cuff his bail jumpers with him. Hip and
full of pop culture, each page is fresh and fun, while
taking you on the ride of your life. If Stephanie Plum
could meet up with Mike Hammer, the result would be
something like CRIMSON HIT. I can't wait for Del's next
high adrenaline adventure!

SummaryThey'll Run...
Dev Shannon loves his job. He makes good money, travels all
over, meets interesting people—and drags them off in chains
to face justice. Dev is San Diego's top bounty hunter, and
there's never a shortage of bad guys for him to bring in.
Business is always good, and he's always open for business.
They'll Hide...
Too bad his latest assignment is personal. Drug kingpin
Julio Sanchez has taken out one of Dev's oldest friends.
And before Dev can do anything about it, he'll have to
clear up two other cases: tracking down a doctor's AWOL
family and a poor little rich boy from Seattle. Some
quality time with Google (the bail enforcer's best friend),
some moral support from his Siamese cat Futa, and the usual
bit of dirty pool should do the trick.
They'll Wish They Hadn't.
But Dev knows his most difficult task still lies ahead, and
he's in no mood for any more games. He'll call in some
favors, visit some lowlifes, and then he'll be ready to
hunt his most dangerous quarry. Not for justice, not for
money, but for revenge...
