"a great book for the romance reader looking for something new!"
Mild, modest Hannah Holt has a few problems, not the
least of which is getting rid of the bar her Aunt who was
not her Aunt gave her in her will. When Gnaegi, an Elder
from her own world, comes to take
her
home she resists as much as she can-she doesn't want to
return
there
any more than she wants to keep the bar for the rest of her
life.
The
absolute last thing she needs is the interference of the
local
police! Local sheriff Adam McGreggor isn't look for the romance
of a
lifetime
when he stumbles into a Hannah Holt's bar-and her life, but
the mysteries that Hannah holds inside are intriguing, and
Hannah herself attracts him like no woman has in too long a
time. Unfortunately, his fascination with her and her
secrets spells nothing but trouble for Hannah, and when the
secrets that she holds begin to unravel. will
they spell his doom as well? Hannah and Adam's story is interesting and unusual. It
has
interesting cultures, especially the Old-Order-Amish-like
culture
that exists on the other side of the Threshold, and a very
diverting
plotline of half-breeds and Balance. The author is clearly
still in the early stages of her career, yet BEYOND THE
THRESHOLD is a quite enjoyable story. It does have some
sensual content, but it is
neither
overtly graphic nor frequent. The romance is pleasing,
perhaps a
little bit predictable, but still enjoyable. The dialogue
is fun to read, too, sprinkled as it is with dialect-words
of the Amish ilk.
Action-oriented yet romantically inclined, BEYOND THE
THRESHOLD is
a
great book for the romance reader looking for something new
and
different.

SummaryIt didn't shock Sheriff Adam McGreggor to discover the owner
of the local seaside nightclub was once part of a sect.
Hannah Holt's entire appearance and attitude just didn't fit
her profession. Her reluctance to press charges against an
assailant that left her battered and drugged, however, did
shock Adam to his core. Even more jolting was his
instantaneous attraction to this woman who fought his every
advance.
But Hannah has a secret he cannot begin to fathom ... she is
from a parallel world....
