REVIEW

"A sexy Texas Ranger hero! Oh my!"

Advice Columnist Lainie Gardner can't believe that not only is someone stalking her but they are also trying to kill her. All she's ever done is try to give out sound advice and take care of her extensive family.

Sloan Abbott, a Texas Ranger, has been hired to protect Lanie. He watches incredulously as she casually strolls out of the elevator into an open lobby beside a huge plate glass window. As he walks toward her, the glass suddenly shatters into a million pieces and Sloan takes this as his clue to grab Lainie and get away from the scene as quickly as possible.

All Lainie is concerned about is whether or not her sister is hurt and if her family will be all right. Sloan tells her that she's his main concern as she's who he's been hired to guard.

Sloan wishes that Lainie wasn't so attractive as she's a distraction to his trying to guard her against whoever is trying to kill her. Lainie decides to treat this little adventure as a vacation and enjoy herself until she's targeted again and they have to find a safe place to hide out until they figure out what's going on. Is there any place safe for Lainie? Sloan isn't even sure that she's safe with him.

This romantic suspense kept me guessing who the villain was until the very end. Most enjoyable was the way Linda Conrad developed the relationship between Sloan and Lainie. For those readers looking for a sexy Texas Ranger hero, this is just the book to read!

Summary

For an advice columnist, Lainie Gardner was suddenly without sound thought but on sensory overload when she found herself dancing in Sloan Abbott's arms. Theirs was an impossible relationship—he, the Texas Ranger protector; she, the celebrity protectee. Under normal circumstances, their paths never should have crossed. But when her life suddenly, terrifyingly had gone from run-of- the-mill to on-the-run, it was Sloan whose body had shielded hers and who now stirred dangerous feelings in her. For Lainie-the-professional would have wisely counseled against an affair that could lead nowhere.

But Lainie-the-woman wasn't listening...
