"Hot, hot, hot!"
Rebecca was back for her aunt's funeral. Answering the
door she came face to face with her first love. She had
been sixteen while Jackson had been a marine. She
realized she still thought he was gorgeous! Jackson back
then thought of her as a Pixie Pest! Now she was
beautiful. She was too distracting which he didn't need
right now! He was trying to figure out what happened to
his uncle Tobias who was killed in a hunting accident six
months ago. Tobias had suspected that the mayor of
Jericho was into something illegal. Rebecca decided she wanted a break from being a big city
cop in Detroit and going home to Jericho would be a nice
calm change. After unpacking, that evening she went
to the Big Rose Tavern where she ran into Jackson. Their
attraction was instantaneous and hot! Not planning on a
one night stand, that is exactly what happened between
Jackson and Rebecca! Rebecca and Jackson got the shock of their lives the next
morning; when they found out at work that Jackson was the
sheriff and Rebecca would be working for him. That didn't
get them off on the right foot!! Still fighting their
attraction while trying to figure out the mystery of
what's going on in the town of Jericho, Rebecca and
Jackson are forced to work together. This is a wonderful love story. The authors gave us two
strong main characters that won't budge an inch. They
work well together; have wild no holds barred sex which
was definitely hot hot hot! The authors did a wonderful job of giving us some
secondary characters that personified the good old boys in
the red necked south. They make you really dislike some
of the characters that were giving Rebecca a hard time
because she was a woman and from the north. Some of the
more likable characters could have stories of their own! The mystery and suspense were great. Romance is skilfully
woven into the action. The events of 9/11 are brought in as
Rebecca and Jackson struggle to make sense of what is going
on in "their town". If you want to know why Tobias was
killed and what's going on in Jericho you definitely have
to read this highly recommended book. Reviewed by: Sophie Murphy
