SPELLBOUND is the third volume of McCray's Seraphine Chronicles series and the concluding volume of the original trilogy. Those who have read the previous two volumes will be happy to see not only the final confrontation between the sorcerer Zanden and the three heart-sisters, but will also be well-pleased by the return of the main characters of the other novels in the trilogy. That doesn't mean that you have to read the other books to understand the story, just that you may appreciate this volume a bit more. SPELLBOUND is a wonderful fantasy read with delectable, inventive sex around every corner. The characters of Tierra and Renn are fascinating and sensual and their romance is both sweet and believable. The fantasy never overcomes the relationship that McCray carefully develops, and the end of the book, as both a singular novel and the conclusion of a trilogy, is totally fulfilling. SPELLBOUND is a wonderful adventure that anyone who enjoys erotic fantasy romance should appreciate.
