"Exciting romantic suspense thriller"
In Cave Creek, Arizona, defense attorney Clare Westbrooke
is shocked when she learns someone murdered her sleazy boss
Harvey Kredd. Heading the investigation is Homicide
Detective Anthony Sonterra, who detested Harvey and his law
firm for their penchant to stretch rules to exonerate
obviously guilty punks. In fact, the infamous Lench
debacle led to a break up between Clare and Anthony. Anthony questions Clare about her public fight with Harvey
not long before he died. Clare insists the battle was over
who would take a hit for the Lench notoriety. If this is
not bad enough for Clare, her brother-in-law Mike Fletcher
has been let out of prison and begins making demands to see
perhaps regain custody over his daughter. Clare hates Mike
because she believes he killed her sister and will never
allow him control over her niece. With her personal world
near collapsing, coping with the man she loves who
disrespects her and feeling like an indentured servant at
work, Clare wonders if perhaps it is time to flee with her
niece. This is an exciting romantic suspense thriller that will
leave readers wondering whether justice for one person may
mean injustice for someone else. The story line is action-
packed and is at its best when the lead couple is in
conflict. When Clare easily falls into Anthony's bed after
a frightening intense day, readers will wonder how someone
so intelligent can be so stupid especially on top of that
keeping secret her indentured status from the man she
loves. Still DON'T LOOK NOW is Linda Lael Miller at her
intriguing best. Harriet Klausner
