Two months after being shot in the chest and watching his partner die, Cade is once again in the Emergency Department but this time with a criminal he just shot. The cool and competent emergency doctor, Shae, saves the patient, who anoints her his "Angel Eyes". The exhaustive police detective, who is relentless in his questioning of his injured prisoner, intrigues Shae. Why is he so tenacious? Cade is even more determined to find his partner's killer when his partner's widow tells him that Internal Affairs is searching the dead detective's home and files. Cade vows to clear his partner's name.

In TRUTH OR LIES, each character struggles with trust. Despite her reluctance, Cade pushes himself into Shae's life to protected her. He also faces the possibility that his partner might have been a dirty cop and set him up for a hit. This is the third in Ms. Brant's THE TREMAINE TRADITION series, and each story does stand alone. The previous book, ENTRAPEMENT, is particularly sexy and sleek with strong non-traditional characters--he cons a female thief extraordinaire into breaking and entering. With a tight plots and strong intelligent characters, I highly recommend these books.

Summary
