"Inspirational, uplifting western."
After receiving an urgent letter regarding her father's
failing health, Alexandra Merritt leaves Philadelphia and
races to Colorado. Always close to her father, she wishes
to be with him before he dies. Unwilling to wait on
conventional transportation, Alexander chooses an old
mail stagecoach for the last leg of her journey. The unsafe
coach overturns, leaving her stranded in the wilderness
with the other passenger, a very pregnant woman. A deeply
religious woman, Alexandra prays for a miracle. Jake Malone stumbles upon a beautiful angel aiding a
newborn and a dying mother. He reluctantly agrees to convey
the baby and Alexandra to her home. A drifter from nowhere,
Jake is surprised by the warm welcome he receives from
Alexandra's family. Jake has always heard that he's
worthless and no good, and he has difficulty accepting the
trust as her family asks him to help prepare for the
harvest. For the first time, Jake feels self-respect. Despite the great differences in their backgrounds,
Alexandra and Jake fall in love. However, trouble arises
when Jake's past threatens to destroy their future. OF MEN AND ANGELS is an uplifting tale of a spiritual
woman, who's deeply human, and the flawed man she loves.
It's evident that Ms. Bylin writes from her heart infusing
her deep faith into her novel. A pleasant and enjoyable
read.
