"The fabulous sequel to MOSSY CREEK!"
As much as I enjoyed MOSSY CREEK, I was apprehensive
when I started reading REUNION AT MOSSY CREEK. I just hoped
it could measure up. I'm very happy to say it more than
measured up! What I really enjoyed was that not only did we get
to revisit current residents of MOSSY CREEK but we also got
to meet new residents. We laughed and we cried right along
with the Creekites. This book took up where MOSSY CREEK left off. In
this story, there's a mystery to be solved and Mayor Ida
Hamilton Walker thinks that more than one resident knows
something of what happened the night that Mossy Creek High
School burned to the ground. This story involves a ram, an
elephant and fireworks. Now all that's left is to get to
the bottom of the whole story and making side visits to old
and new residents as well. We are told stories from all different viewpoints
and different sides. Still and all, we don't really know
what happened and who did what until the very last chapter. I enjoyed reading these books so much that I really
hope that these wonderful ladies will keep visiting MOSSY
CREEK. I now know where I need to go when I need a fix of
good old down home Southern hospitality and humor! Kudos,
ladies, on two of the best books about the south I've ever
read.
