"Can a bad boy turn good?"
The book begins with Danella and Michael (Mik) fleeing into
the wild countryside. They are strangers to each other but
have a common enemy. After attempting to kidnap Princess
Susan, Mik is always kept under guard. He escapes via a
hidden corridor, dressing as a commoner. He is on a quest
to "find" himself. He doesn't want to be the half mad, bad
second son anymore. He wonders how he might have turned
out if his mother had been allowed to raise him and love
him. Michael comes across Danella walking on the side of the
road. She has run away from her home. Scared, she draws
her knife. Michael easily disarms her, not realizing the
traveller is female. He quickly declares that they will
travel together. It is for both their benefits. The people
looking for them will be looking for solitary travellers
not a couple. It's part of the "new Mik" he wants to be-
defender and protector of people who are in need. Danella's
father had died and her half brother had made a deal with
the ruler of their world of Kegin for her to become the
ruler's
mistress in spite of the fact that she is high born. As Michael and Danella travel to their destination they
experience many hardships and adventures. Their attraction
grows but will it survive the truth of who they really are? Come along on this journey of discovery and growing love
with Michael and Danella. Will Mik be able to turn his
life around? Can this "bad boy" become the type of man
that a woman will love and respect? Find out what is
haunting Danella. This book was fantastic. It was nice to
be back on the Kegin world, to find out more about their
customs and lives. The chemistry between Michael and
Danella moved the book right along. The story was quick
paced and I couldn't put it down. I liked
Michael's story better than Jole's (Michael's brother). I
think it
was because Michel wasn't so perfect. He was more human.
