"An intriguing read!"
I have always equated Delores Fossen with a guaranteed good
read and she's yet to let me down. With that being said, I
eagerly dug into her latest Intrigue. Combat Rescue officer Rafe McQuade and his team rescue
Annie Caldwell from Monte De Leon and he promptly asks her
to marry him as soon as they get back to the States. Annie
makes it back safely but Rafe is caught. He finally escapes
and makes it back to Annie but at their hastily put
together wedding, Annie instinctively knows that this is
not the Rafe she's fallen in love with but she can't quite
put her finger on what's wrong. As Rafe and Annie are getting ready to go to their
reception, suddenly a gunman starts shooting in the
church. He's captured but he's severely injured
and dies before Rafe and his team can learn why he was sent
and who he was sent to kill. Rafe and Annie are taken to a supposedly safe place and
Annie asks Rafe a few pointed questions that he gets wrong
so she demands he tell her just what they've done to the
real Rafe as he's not him. Rafe finally breaks down and
tells Annie that when he was captured he was injected with
a truth serum that gave him temporary amnesia and he
couldn't remember the last year of his life, which meant he
could barely remember Annie as they've only known each
other a little over a year. Annie wants Rafe back, the Rafe that she fell in love with
and the one who fathered her baby. She knows all she can do
is wait and see if Rafe gets his memory back and if he does
will he still feel for her the depth of feeling she feels
for him? Delores Fossen takes us on a wild ride with this one. I
thoroughly enjoyed each and every word. Her Intrigues are
spell binding and are generally ones I have a hard time
putting down. As always, I eagerly await her next book!

SummaryAnna Caldwell hadn't planned on spending her honeymoon
dodging bullets in the Texas chaparral with a husband who
couldn't even remember her! Or their unborn child...
Combat Rescue Officer Rafe McQuade had saved Anna's life,
fathered the baby she carried and asked her to be his bride...
but had no recollection of any of it. And unless he could
unlock the secrets in his mind, rogue terrorists had no
qualms about using his pregnant wife as a bargaining chip.
Rafe didn't need his memory to know how much Anna — and his
family — meant to him; he did need everything in his power
to complete the most dangerous mission of his career.
Lives, and his marriage, were on the line....
