"Beautifully written, delightfully romantic tale for the Holiday season."
Arlington, Connecticut Distraught over the loss of her mother, graduate student
Filomena Albright is stunned by the news she receives from
the family lawyer. Her mother has left behind a mountain
of debts that is just too great for Fil to conquer. She
realizes her only choice is to fix up and sell their family
house in Arlington that will hopefully bring in enough to
cover the debts. Fil decides to spend the next couple of
months down at the house getting it ready for the sale.
However, once there, she realizes there's someone already
interested in her home -- two little imps named Billy and
Gracie Myers, who are convinced Fil is a witch and that her
house is haunted. Meanwhile, the divorced father of these two lovable
shrimps, Evan Myers is not doing a great job of managing
his business demands and his family life. He needs help
and he's almost desperate. Scratch that. He 'is'
desperate! After all, getting your secretary to pick up
your kids more than once a week or asking the daycare
facility to accommodate your late hours on a regular basis
is not a good sign. Evan feels like a failure as a
father. To top all that, his little imps have been acting
funny since they took a hike through the woods. When Evan
meets the object of their fascination, he's bowled over
too! He also finds that Fil may just be the answer to his
baby-sitting problems. Before long, he finds himself
spending more time thinking about his kids' new nanny
rather than his business promotions. Yet how can he
possibly hope for a future with Fil when quite clearly, she
belongs in the city and not in the suburbs? Judith Arnold is a master storyteller and she proves it
once more in her November release, ėTIS THE SEASON. I
really enjoyed reading this book. Ms. Arnold spins tales based in reality but with plenty of
magic too. Her characters are rich and certainly
enchanting. The dialogue was natural too, whether that of
the grown ups or the children. I particularly enjoyed the
portions of the story told from Billy's point of view. Beautifully written and so very fitting for the Holiday
Season, ėTIS THE SEASON is a delightfully romantic tale for
readers of all ages. It certainly gets you in the mood for
Christmas and leaves you smiling. I highly recommend ėTIS
THE SEASON.
