REVIEW

"Great characters and story!"

Angie thought she was perfectly happy with her life as a waitress and part time artist until she walked into the bank and was held hostage by a guy robbing the bank. The hunky guy in the next line saved her life and suddenly she had an epiphany. She would do the things she always wanted to do, like send off for an easel to explore her artistic ability. She also decided to enroll in college.

The problem with Angie though was that she couldn't forget that hunky guy that saved her. His name is Sam O'Neill and he is a cop. Then when Angie goes to Sam's office to answer some more questions and to thank him yet again for saving her life, she notices a composite sketch of a guy on Sam's desk. She tells Sam that she's seen the guy before but Sam is skeptical because nobody seems to know where the guy was because he seems to have disappeared.

Then Angie sees the guy in the alley between the bookstore and the café where she works. She calls 911 but they tell her that she needs to call Sam directly. She tells them to give him a message for her but when Sam shows up the guy is nowhere around. Sam tells Angie to call him again if she sees him but every time she calls, by the time Sam arrives, he's disappeared.

Then somebody starts calling Angie's cell phone and threatens her. They leave notes on the door of her apartment. When somebody ransacks her apartment, Sam takes matters in his own hands and wants her to stay with him but she doesn't want to give up her independence even though she's attracted to Sam. Can she get Sam to get rid of his excess baggage and give them a chance or is she trying to win a losing battle?

This one is a one sitting read. I highly recommend it for it's characters, action and all around good read. Poor Angie didn't have a clue as to how much danger she was in. She only wanted to help Sam. Sam got so outdone and frustrated with her sometimes that it was comical but sweet at the same time! I'm anxious for Jill Shalvis' next book!

Summary

Hardened cop Sam O'Neill knew a meddlesome woman when he saw one. He'd saved cocktail waitress Angie Rivers during a bank holdup, but he couldn't get her prety face or the feel of her silky skin out of his head. She made him lose his focus - she softened his heart - and that put both of them knee-deep in danger, because someone wanted Angie dead.
