"On of the best futuristics I've ever read!"
Leith McClure has taken over her father's business, McClure
Shipping. Her father, Cameron has a serious illness and
will be incapacitated for quite a while. Even though Leith
isn't the least bit interested in the business, she's doing
it for her dad. Besides Steve Hancock, Cameron's right hand
man will be right there if she needs help. What Leith
doesn't know is that Steve is a little more than insane and
he's doublecrossing several nations one of which is the Zi,
a reptilian race of saurian descent and not much is known
about them. Steve kidnaps J'Qhir, the leader of the Zi race
and puts him and Leith out on a deserted planet called
Paradise. Then Steve puts out a bulletin that J'Qhir has
kidnapped Leith and has fled with her. Now Leith and J'Qhir are on Paradise alone. J'Qhir has a
severely injured knee on top of it all. They have to find
shelter and food. Luckily Leith has a survivalist jacket
that has many things in it to help them survive. Not only
do they have to figure out how to survive until they are
rescued but they also have to learn to get along with
other. Is this possible? Can they survive until they are
rescued or will they even be rescued? This is one of the best futuristics I've ever read. I was
caught up in Leith and J'Qhir's story from the very first
page and this book held my interest until the very last
word. If this is any indication of what I have to look
forward to from this author, I will definitely be anxious
to read more of Lanette Curington's books. Kathy Boswell / June, 2000
