"Deliciously heart-warming story!"
This heart-warming novel is about old heartaches and new
beginnings. It's about hope and the promise of love. Katherine Whittington had been abandoned at the
orphanage when she was nine years old and there she stayed
until the orphanage closed down. She was perusing the
newspaper in order to find a job when she came across a
very intriguing ad from a rancher in Texas wanting a mail-
order bride. Since Katherine was already a spinster, she
decided to write and see if there was any hope that maybe
she would have a home and a family. Surprisingly Reed
Benton, Junior wrote back and before Kate knew it she was
married by proxy and on her way to Texas. Unfortunately Reed Benton, Junior had no way of
knowing what his father, Reed Benton, Senior was scheming.
Reed hadn't been home in years since the night his wife
killed herself and the Comanche kidnapped their three-year-
old son. Reed had joined the Texas Rangers and had been
looking for his son, Daniel ever since. So it was quite a
shock to ride into a Comanche camp and finally find his
eight-year-old son. When Kate arrived at the Lone Star Ranch it was to
Reed Benton, Senior's funeral and Reed Junior arriving home
with Daniel. Reed had been shot in the shoulder and was in
a bad way. Kate nursed him back to health but that's just
when the trouble starts. Will they be able to sort it all
out to the benefit of all involved? I have been a fan of Jill Marie Landis for years
and she has yet to disappoint. This book is no exception
as I found myself picking this book up every chance I got
just to read a bit more until I finally arrived at the
stunning conclusion to this fabulous story.
