REVIEW

"An enjoyable story with strong alpha males"

Lunar Base, 2785

Normally Jaide Calanarre and Sesame Calais work as ship augmenters, enhancing a ship's capacity for speed and firepower. Jaide's skill with creating new technology was known far and wide in the sector. Not too long ago she had created her own ship with all of the extras, but her lowlife brother stole it from her. To add insult to injury, he not only stole her ship but he's run up bills with every drug dealer and brothel in the sector. Since he broke into her bank account to pay for everything, they were coming after her for payment. Now after working at it for several years, it's starting to look like she just might be able to pay everyone off, especially when a new contract is offer to her and Sesame.

Twenty-five years ago the Draconians first crash-landed onto Antarctica. They quickly became known not just for their glowing eyes and rough voices but for the fact that they make formidable enemies. Their home world was uninhabitable and their supplies had been completely depleted, making it necessary for them to make a new home on Earth. They exchanged their technology for food and supplies to survive. Skye D'rath and Nemesis Spectere needed some improvements made to their ship and they needed them made quickly. As Draconians, they stood out in a crowd. Tall, dark, and mysterious they made a great first impression but Jaide and Sesame are about to drop from working double shifts during a flu outbreak. Draconians are not known for taking no for an answer so they "persuade" Jaide and Sesame to help them with their ship.

I enjoyed this story from the beginning. The characters were easy to care for and the alpha males were great. The attraction between the two main characters was immediate and hot The secondary characters were a nice addition without overpowering or confusing the story. The Draconians were explained in enough detail to make the story easy to follow without overpowering the story. If you enjoy a sci-fi romance with true alpha males I'd recommend reading this book.

Sexual Content: Rated Sensual by the publisher; rated R by this reviewer.

Summary

Augmenter Jaide Calanarre has three goals: to be debt free, stable, and free of men. Being kidnapped with her partner by a crazy band of Draconians doesn't fit in with her plans. Neither does Skye D'rath. Skye wasn't looking for a woman to complicate his life. Meeting Jaide changed all that in a hurry. Fire lurked just underneath the surface of the independent, quarrelsome woman, and he knew the right man could set it loose. He was confident he was up to the job. But there's more to worry about for Jaide than fending off Skye's determined pursuit and revving up his captain's ship. Someone wants to kill her, her partner is falling for the captain of their captors, and she's beginning to suspect there's more to their abduction then meets the eye. As everything she thought she knew is turned upside down, dare she overcome her distrust of men and reach for a love as powerful as the chance to Ride the Stars.
