"Fun and a joy to read!"
Kathie DeNosky has done it again. This book was a
joy to read. It brought a huge smile to my face and tears
to my eyes! Brenna Montgomery and her Granny Abigail have just
moved to Tranquility when an old man accosts Brenna on the
street and gives her a resounding smack on the cheek and
welcomes her to the town. She is so astounded that she
immediately goes to the Sheriff and complains about men
kissing her on the street. Dylan Chandler cannot believe
this woman is complaining of something so trite especially
since the old man in question is his Uncle Pete. Dylan had
been warning Pete for years that he would get in trouble
one of these days. The next thing Dylan knows is Brenna has formed an
arts and crafts class for the ladies of Tranquility and the
men want Dylan to spy and make sure the Beautification
Society (better known as the B. S. Club) isn't getting any
kind of crazy ideas again. Dylan reluctantly agrees but
decides that he would rather use the time to get to know
Brenna better. Brenna is attracted to Dylan but she wants
no part of another relationship as her last one ended quite
badly. Meanwhile Abigail and Pete have a plan up their
sleeve and all they have to do is keep throwing Dylan and
Brenna together for it to work. Needless to day, Pete and
Abigail seem to be spending lots of time together
themselves. Hmmmmm, will anything come of that? I just loved everything about this book from the
main characters to the secondary characters to the entire
town. Abigail had me in stitches and Pete was equally as
funny. I highly recommend this book. Kathie DeNosky can't
write fast enough for me!
