"A Sexy Skirt, A Handsome P.I."
A.J. Potter is a smart, dedicated Manhattan
attorney, but her law firm keeps her doing research,
instead of trying cases. It doesn't help that her uncle
is a senior partner of the firm and her
cousin is on the fast track to partnership. A.J. is
still the orphan niece taken in by her wealthy aunt and
uncle, and she has never been accepted at home or at the
office. So, A.J. has decided to move out. She subleases
an apartment with two other young women,
Samantha and Claire. Samantha owns the famous "man-magnet"
skirt. A.J. had seen the short, black skirt in action when
Samantha beat out a group of young women for the sublease
of their apartment from an elderly gentleman. Sam Romano is a P. I. whose company had been hired
to protect the Abelard necklace during its display at the
Grenelle Museum. He is posing as a homeless man, across
the street from the museum, and everyday at 7:30 he has
watched the beautiful, petite blond with the initials
A.J.P. on her briefcase walk by. Everyday she has put
money into his cup. But today is different. Today
he sees his godfather, Pierre Rabaut, a retired jewel
thief, entering the museum through a skylight at 6:30 am.
He expects to see Pierre come out at 7:30am when the
museum's alarm system is turned off for a shift change.
And today he is going to betray his client to protect his
godfather. He will get the necklace from Pierre and
return it to the museum with no one being the wiser. However, A.J. is coming down the street wearing a short,
black skirt and Sam is definitely distracted. During that
momentary lapse of concentration, Pierre comes out of the
museum and is nearly run down by a pickup truck. Both Sam
and A.J. run forward to push him out of the way. By the
time the police patrol cars arrive on the
scene, the truck is gone, and A.J.
is Pierre's attorney. SHORT, SWEET AND SEXY is a very enjoyable Harlequin
Temptation. A.J. and Sam are delightful as they try to
work out their relationship amidst the chaos of a stolen
necklace, a difficult family, and the demands of their
jobs. They are brought together even more as they both try
to protect Pierre. Add to this fun plot, a French poodle
looking for the love of her life, and a flamboyant doorman
with dreams of being on Broadway. A.J.'s stuffy family has
no chance once Sam decides that A.J. deserves much more
than her family can give her.

Fearless, feisty and free-spirited attorney A.J. Potter
The Solution -- The Skirt
Lawyer A.J. Potter needs a solid case -- not a
man. Only, little did she guess when she wore her
roommates "man-magnet" skirt to convince the firm's
partners to take her seriously, that she'd end up with
both! The case -- to defend a retired jewelry thief. The
man -- Sam Romano, the sexy P.I. who thinks her client is
guilty. A.J.'s solution? To keep Sam so "busy," he won't
have the time -- or the desire -- to think about work....
