"Fun duet of contemporary tales."
In NAUGHTY AND NICE, Wolfgang "Wolf" Linder has been asked
by his identical cousin to check out one of his old
girlfriends. When Wolf sees Brooke Masters at the gym, he
decides to report back to his cousin that she's not worth
the effort -- because he wants to pursue her himself. When Brooke first notices Wolf lifting weights at the gym,
she thinks that her old flame has come all the way from
Chicago to Ft. Lauderdale to see her. But he hasn't
responded to her e-mails in the last few weeks, so why
would he be here now? When Wolf confronts her and asks her
out, she realizes that he must just look like her old
flame, and Wolf doesn't tell her otherwise. Things really
get out of hand when both Wolf and his cousin are at Wolf's
sister's wedding, and Wolf has to tell Brooke the truth.
Will she still want him? This was a nice, short read. It seemed that there wasn't
enough time for the relationship to develop; Brooke
and Wolf could have benefited from a longer story. In MATA HALI, Andrea "Andi" DiGeorge is leaving work one
day when the company decides to do a surprise search of
employees. The company has been having problems lately with
information being stolen and mysterious mishaps in the
plant. When it's Andi's turn, they find Top Secret
documents in her purse. She claimed that she was set up, so
they bargain with her to be a spy on some other employees
who are on their "suspicious" list. On the top of that list
is Brian Newman, an engineer whose designs were stolen. It
didn't hurt that he was the most gorgeous man that Andi
ever saw. A few days after being handed her "assignment",
she goes to a company party and is immediately pursued by
Brian. Things happen very fast between them, and she wakes
up the next morning in a strange bed, with Brian not
remembering her name. Andi vows never to speak to him
again, but is forced to do so because of her assignment.
As she gets to know him, her feelings grow, and she doesn't
think he could be the one behind the thefts. But are her
feelings deceiving her? And if Brian is innocent, who is
the culprit? This was a very exciting, fast-paced tale, with a few
laughs thrown in. The relationship developed nicely,
considering the short length of the book. I really enjoyed
this read! Sexual Content: NC-17.
