"Tender romance, beautiful emotions and chilling suspense"
Natalie's husband, Detective Stuart Reed, died one year
ago. They had only been married for three short years but
her marriage had never been blissfully perfect. In the
months since Stuart's death, Natalie has picked up the
reins of her life and learned to move on. Her quiet,
orderly life turned upside down the day she returned home
from work to find the body of an absolute stranger lying
face down in her deceased husband's study with his head
blown off. Shock and terror sets in but she finds a pair
of strong arms supporting her -- Detective John McLean,
Stuart's partner. Single father to two wonderful children, John is an
honorable and caring man who takes responsibility very
seriously. He added Natalie's name to his list of
responsibilities when Stuart died. At first it was only
because Stuart had been his partner and partners looked out
for each other's families. However, somewhere along the
way, John began to regard Natalie as more than just HIS
PARTNER'S WIFE. She became a friend, someone he could talk
to. Feelings and awareness ran deeper between the two but
neither of them said a word. Now, the discovery and
subsequent investigation of the dead body found in
Natalie's house throw both of them into closer proximity
which adds to the brewing attraction between them. The victim turns out to be a known drug dealer, but the
question of what exactly he was doing in Natalie's house
remains a mystery. A few days after the fuss dies down,
someone breaks into Natalie's house in the still of the
night. Convinced her life could be at stake, John brings
Natalie to his house. Keeping her closer may mean her
chances of staying safe are stronger, but John has a really
tough time controlling his feelings for HIS PARTNER'S WIFE! Janice Kay Johnson's latest Superromance, HIS PARTNER'S
WIFE, is the first novel in her trilogy entitled ë3 Good
Cops'. This is a story about an honorable, strong, macho
man and a fragile but capable woman. Both characters have
known pain, faced problems head on and learned to deal with
them. The flow of the narration is smooth and swift, keeping the
reader hooked throughout with an ample sprinkling of
intrigue and sizzling sexual tension. Ms. Johnson has
portrayed her characters and their conflicts beautifully.
John is a tender yet macho and very sexy hunk who could
warm a gal to her toes with just a look. I simply loved
his persona. The combination of Natalie's vulnerability,
sweet charm and her ingrown need to try and remain in
control of her emotions was excellently defined. John's
children are delightful! I also enjoyed meeting John's
brothers, Connor and Hugh, and look forward eagerly to
reading their stories in the future. Ms. Johnson has infused HIS PARTNER'S WIFE with tender
romance, beautiful emotions and plenty of chilling
suspense. HIS PARTNER'S WIFE is a wonderful novel that is
sure to be greatly appreciated by all lovers of series
romance.
