"A fun book to read!"
Have you ever realized at the very last minute that
you are about to make the worst mistake of your life?
Well, that's just what happened to Judi Monroe. She
overhears a strange conversation about her fiancé, Sterling
Carroll just before she's ready to walk down the aisle.
From what she can tell, it's something about an illegal
shipment and it will be delivered in her name. That right
there starts warning bells ringing in her head and she runs
out of the church, takes the wedding limo and skips town. Judi winds up in Wyoming exhausted, hungry and
ready to stop running. What happens is she turns on the
wrong road and runs into a tree trying not to hit a man on
a horse. He looks just like The Lone Ranger to her but his
horse is the wrong color. That's the last thing she thinks
of before she hits the tree. Thomas Vance is training a horse when this car
comes up the ranch's road and spooks the horse, Dickens.
The next thing Thomas sees is a car hitting a tree. Who is
this nutty woman and what is she doing on their private
road? Thomas' 15 year old sister Becky and his
grandmother believe she must be Helga, the nurse hired to
help Gran since her hip replacement. Judi decides to play
along since she needs to hide for a while anyway. Thomas
is very skeptical and suspicious but what is a girl to do? Neither Tomas nor Judy plan on the attraction they
feel for each other. Judi can't say much about her
situation because she's supposed to have amnesia. What will
Thomas do when he finds out her situation? Therein, lies
the story! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was funny and
serious at the same time. I especially enjoyed the way
Judi kept slipping about her life and then catching
herself. Thomas knew she didn't have amnesia but for some
reason he just didn't want to admit it to himself. He knew
for darn sure that she wasn't a nurse's aide. Still, Becky
and Gran loved her so he figured she meant no harm or did
she? Could his heart take another rejection? Only time
will tell. I highly recommend this one!
