REVIEW

"An exciting read"

The crew of the United Space Alliance Medevac ship the Orion are shocked when they respond to a SOS only to find female corpses. The ship doctor Caitlin Kelly believes the women died as part of a suicide ritual. Also found is a mutilated individual chained inside a burned room.

Dr. Caitlin provides medical help to the ailing alien. Another ship arrives demanding that they hand over their patient Khierson Cree. However, Khierson decides he wants Caitlin as his mate. His crew takes control of her ship as he begins a campaign to breech her defenses.

Khierson's bloodsire Kameron Cree lives on earth with a Terran mate Bridget. They constantly argue because Kam refuses to hold their infant. Kam hides from the Multitude, the women that just tried killing his "blood" son. The Multitude abducts Kam with Bridget wondering what she can do to save her beloved.

"Talespinner" Charlotte Boyett-Compo deftly uses horror figures and places them in outer space so that readers obtain a supernatural space opera that works on several levels. The two major story lines compete for supremacy, but neither succeeds so that the audience is a bit confused until Ms. Boyett-Compo brings the duo plots into one theme. The characters feel genuine whether he or she is a creature of the night or full moon, an earthling, or a distaff Multitude member. Fans who want to try something a bit different should read this space adventure with horror elements as well as the first book in the WindDemon trilogy, BLOODWIND as well as other "Wind" novels.

Summary

On a world where assassins were genetically engineered and cruelty was commonplace, Kamerone Cree was a warrior among warriors; but on Earth, he is lost, desperately bored, and looking over his shoulders for an enemy only he can see. The Prime Reaper returns in this riveting sequel to BLOODWIND and he isn't having a good day!
