REVIEW

"A fast paced, action packed, sensual book"

Joley Drake, the sixth sister in Christine's Drake Sister series, has met her match in Ilya Prakenskii. Christine has been building to Joley and Ilya's story almost from the beginning of this series. Ilya's intensity and almost possessive nature towards the famous (and somewhat infamous rocker/party girl) Joley Drake seemed at cross points with his job choice. Throughout the book the reader and Joley questions her wisdom in getting involved with such a questionable and obviously dangerous character. The storyline is intense and the sensual heat between Joley and Ilya set the pages and the reader on fire. There were times in this book that I began to wonder if Christine was on a path for all her worlds to collide. While she has sworn that her Dark series and the Drake series will not cross paths, this book skirted very close to the line, even going as far as a claiming ceremony. Nature requires checks and balances, so it only makes sense that the Drake Sisters family would have a male counterpart, and with Ilya's introduction the reader is left wondering if maybe Christine will be branching the Drake Sisters off with a series on the Prakenskii Brothers. After all the seventh son of a seventh son has to have older brothers somewhere. Right?

Overall this book was a signature Christine story and Feehanolics will not be disappointed. Intense characters, possessive brothers-in-law and the unconditional loving bond between the Drake Sisters pulls together in a fast paced, action packed, sensual book. Christine has once again written a book that will appeal not only to her original romance followers but her male audience as well.

Summary

Number-one New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan returns to the "erotic, exotic, and suspenseful"* world of the paranormally gifted Drake sisters with the wildest sister of them all: impulsive, celebrated, worshipped...and in danger.

The star: Joley Drake was born with a legacy of unexpected magical gifts, but it was the gift of singing that made her an overnight sensation—a rock and roll goddess trapped by fame, fortune, and ambition. Heated by the flush of success, Joley could have any man she wanted. But there's only one man who can give her what she really needs.

The bodyguard: Ilya Prakenskii, cool, inscrutable, dangerously sexy, and working in the shadow of his infamous reputation—that of a secret Russian hit man on the payroll of a notorious mobster. He's the last man Joley should get close to, yet when her life is threatened on tour she has nowhere left to turn. But in the seductive safe keep of Ilya's embrace, is Joley really as secure as she imagines?
