REVIEW

"IMHO, Susan's best book to date!!!"

This is the third book in Susan Grant's Otherworldly Men series. This is Evie Jasper Holloway's story. While references are made to the characters in the other two books, this one is totally stand alone. Still I recommend reading the other two just because this is such a great series.

Evie is finally getting her life together and has also decided to start her own business just like her grandfather would have wanted her to do. Then she is asked by her younger sister, Senator Jana Jasper, to let the REEF stay at her house for no more than two weeks until they can figure out what to do with him. Evie can't believe Jana is asking this of her. REEF broke into her house and terrified her poor Chihuahua, Sadie. There's no way he is going to stay here. Evie's mind is made up, at least until she meets Eric Sanders aka REEF. He has almost been humanized now that his computer has been taken out of his arm but still can he be totally harmless? After all Evie has two impressionable kids to deal with as well.

Eric badly wants to remember who he was before he was bioengineered almost beyond humanization. Did he have a family before he was taken away and why did they let him be taken away anyway? Will Eric ever know the whole story of who he was before he became a REEF? The Gatekeeper had assured him before he left the desert that his memories would return but when?

Now Eric's job is to be bodyguard to Evie and her two children, Ellen and John. He's going to do the best job he can because he's seen how nurturing Evie is to kids, animals and even to him.

I believe this is Susan Grant's best book to date! She took one of the most dehumanized assassins and actually humanized him and what a great job she did! Whew! Evie is one lucky woman! All I can say is I hope that when Ellen grows up, Susan will see fit to write her story for those of us who want to know what is in store for her!!! I don't want to let go of this family just yet!

Summary

His internal computers are offline, his former employers want him dead and the Men in Black are after him. Without his cyberpowers, Reef is as weak as a lowly Earthling. He's tried to kill every human he's met—so why on Earth would they help him? Evie Holloway needs a bodyguard! Her fledgling chocolate business is mistaken as a money-laundering scheme for the mob and the bullets have started flying. But does the suburban soccer mom really want to shelter the alien hit man who almost offed her future brother-in-law? She is desperate, and Reef is incredibly sexy. "Ten days," she tells him—but it turns out that ten days just might be long enough to spark a love that's truly out of this world.
