"A truly enjoyable story!"

Carrie Evans had been in love with her boss Nico Fierezza for years. One evening at an office get together, Carrie was standing on the outskirts of the crowd when Nico singled her out. She was thrilled but when he totally ignored her the next day, she knew that she couldn't work for him any more. Then she found out that she was pregnant. When she decided to tell Nico about the baby, she found out that he had to go back home as the King had picked out a bride for him.

Carrie knew that before Nico got married, she must tell him about the baby so she followed him to the island of Niroli where he is in line for the throne, a throne that he never wanted. Nico is a wanderer and cannot stay in one place too long or he gets bored. He is also a daredevil which gives his family more than one ulcer.

Nico can't believe Carrie has come to Niroli. He believes she is there on vacation but he knows he has never forgotten her. Though when she tells him about the baby, he knows she is lying as he had a disease when he was a child that left him sterile. Carrie doesn't know what to do to convince him that the baby really is his.

I was so rooting for Carrie. I wanted her to take a frying pan to Nico's head a few times but I was so glad that his mother liked Carrie and wanted to help her! I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful book. This is the first book I've read by Susan Stephens but I'm sure it won't be my last.
