"Another excellent gothic"
I thoroughly enjoyed Eve Silver's DARK DESIRES last year
and was thrilled when I was asked to review her latest
Historical Gothic Romance. I couldn't imagine it would be
nearly as good as DARK DESIRES but I'm ecstatic to say
that it is equally as good and once again I could not put
it down! Emma Parrish lives with her horrid aunts after her
mother dies but her aunts let her know it's by the
goodness of their black hearts that she, the illegitimate
daughter of her mother, is allowed to stay with them after
her mother dies. Now she has been asked to become
governess for Lord Craven at Manorbrier. Lord Craven is
the widower of Emma's cousin. It has been rumored that he
murdered his wife but Emma just can't believe it. That is until she gets to Manorbrier and discovers
eerie halls, locked doors and a mysterious tower that she
has been warned away from by more than one person. Still
Emma loves Nicholas and sees that Lord Craven loves his
son as well. What Emma can't understand is why strange things
are happening in the manor. She decides she must get to
the bottom of this so she can feel safe and thereby keep
Nicholas safe even if it means keeping him safe from his
father. I'm so thrilled to discover Eve Silver and her
fabulous gothics. I truly hope she will keep writing
these wonderful books and I know I will be waiting eagerly
for each one of them!
