"lighthearted contemporary romance"
Following her mom asking her if she is gay and ordering
her to find a Yuppie to marry and have babies with, Jen
needs a date for her family's Thanksgiving dinner or her
matchmaking mom will provide her with one. She decides
Zach is perfect as her escort. Zach agrees to go with her. The pair have a good time together even with mom beaming.
Zach wants to see Jen again and she reluctantly accepts
their going on a date. When he decides he needs to know
more about her, she actually surprises herself by telling
him a truth she is ashamed of; although she expected him
to flee in disgust Zach wants to see Jen even more as
their pretend relationship feels genuine at least in his
heart. This is a fun lighthearted contemporary romance starring
two likable souls who have in common an anti commitment
syndrome and a love for one another. Jen is a delightful
character as she barely blinks when her mom, "caught in a
1970s time warp", accuses her of being gay because she
isn't married yet. Fans will enjoy the antics of this
couple who insist "I'm not in love". Harriet Klausner

SummarySome people will do anything for true loveeven if
they have to fake it.
Jen Maitland had no use for handsome guys with easy
charmuntil she met Zach. He's the perfect fake date to
end her mother's matchmaking scheme before it starts.
Besides, he'd probably just use her and leave her like her
ex-fiancé did. At least that's what Jen tells herself. The
only problem is that Zach isn't as predictable as he appears...
Zach Coxwell hates commitment, but loves a challenge. Like
the pretty bar waitress who turned him down flat for a
dateonly to invite him to her family's Thanksgiving
dinner. Zach knows he can make Jen smileand he's
betting that he can unravel her mysterieseven if he
has to do it over candied yams.
A tofu turkey, a sister who threatens to have Zach's
love-child, the untimely appearance of a knitted
avocadoand Zach's discovery of her real
motivecombine to turn Thanksgiving dinner into Jen's
worst nightmare. Zach, on the other hand, has the time of
his life.
And when he makes an outrageous promise to Jen's mother, he
finally finds a commitment he's willing to take on...
