REVIEW

"This is one hero you couldn't resist running away with!"

When Luke McLintock "kidnapped" Jenny Eriksen on the eve of herengagement, he told himself that it was for the right reasons. Jenny was the fiance of his childhood friend and she could be the one person to secure a little boy's future.

However, Jenny didn't believe a word that came out of Luke's mouthand was shocked that after all her fiance, Daniel, had done for him that Luke would turn on him this way. After all, it was Daniel's family who had taken in the McLintock family when Luke's father died. However, Jenny was at his mercy and had no choice but to play by Luke's rules. After all, he did promise to release her once showed her why she had been kidnapped, and for the life of her, she couldn't figure out why this man could leave her breathless just by standing near her.

Arriving at their destination left Jenny speechless. Luke poured out his story and showed her the little boy in question. Of course Jenny didn't believe Luke but over time she couldn't deny the truth. She finally realized that Luke was the honorable man he portrayed himself to be. His situation was just so desperate that he had no choice other than to take Jenny.

Jenny also began to realize that Daniel was not the man she thought he was. He was heartless and only out for himself. All the while that she was discovering Daniel's true nature, she also discovered that she was in love with Luke. She knew Luke had feelings for her but he was a loner by nature and didn't have room in his life to be tied down. When Jenny was scheduled to leave Luke knew that he could not let the only woman he ever had feelings for leave.

Watching this story unravel led to surprises throughout the book. There were many secondary characters and each was so unique and only added to the strong storline. LUKE'S RUNAWAY BRIDE is a must read for fans of western historicals. Kate Bridges can create some of the sexiest heroes I have read and make them come to life between the pages.
