This is the story of Lexi Mansfield and Josh Winger. Those who have read SILK, LACE AND VIDEOTAPE met Lexi, who was Amanda's best friend, and Josh, who was Duke's partner. Those who have not read Amanda and Duke's story, not to worry because this is a totally stand-alone story!

Lexi has always lived on the fringe of society feeling as if she never belonged even though she tried her best to fit in. Now she's doing what she knows best and that's writing a fashion column for a glamour magazine and being the best darn fund-raiser she knows how to be.

Josh gets a tip from Amanda to be at a certain fund- raiser in order to turn up some information on the drug smuggling case that he and Duke have been working on for months. Little does Josh know that Lexi spots him and decides to have a little fun even though they've never formally met. Lexi is just tired of her same old life and is ready for a little action. After she finds out who Josh really is, she is mortified but she is still very much attracted to this sexy, dangerous looking rogue of a cop. Josh is an undercover cop all the way and can't stand publicity so Lexi is the epitome of what he has been trying to avoid all his life, but why does it feel so right when he's with her?

I have thoroughly enjoyed every Joanne Rock book I've ever read and this one is no exception. Lexi and Josh's story is every bit as good as Amanda and Duke's was. Lexi may come off as a little china doll but she packs a powerful punch and she doesn't let Josh get away with anything. I look forward to seeing what else Joanne Rock has in store for her readers!

Summary
