REVIEW

"A fun, sexy read!"

New York Detective Duke Rawlins delves into the garment district to find out who is smuggling drugs in through bolts of fabric. His biggest suspect is Clyde Matthews, a quirky designer who has been known to have mob connections. His daughter Amanda is a designer too and her boyfriend, Victor Gallagher could be just the guy who is smuggling the drugs. He's just smarmy enough with the right connections. Duke has had his eye on him for a while now.

Amanda Matthews decides it's time for the next step with Victor. She's tired of his being the gallant gentleman with her. She's ready for some action so she gets a wild hair and makes a tape of her doing a strip tease. She also goes to Victor's apartment in little more than a trench coat with tape in hand. She's in for a great big surprise when she gets to Victor's apartment. Not only is he sleeping with another woman but he's about to be arrested on charges of suspected drug smuggling using her father's business as a front.

Amanda is furious but Duke is a hunk. Even though she is very aware of how little she has on under her trench coat, she has to stay and answer questions. If Duke only knew, he'd blow a gasket. He's already fighting an attraction to Amanda. Nothing can come of this relationship before it even begins or can it?

This book was such a fun read. I just laughed at Amanda's escapades. It kept me turning pages in order to be able to find out what she would come up with next. Duke is such a hunk and having his grandfather's sayings pop into his head at exactly the appropriate time really added another aspect to this highly enjoyable book. I eagerly look forward to reading more of Joanne Rock's books!

Summary

She didn't mean to give him a private show . . .

Window dresser Amanda Matthews never imagined she'd be so bold as to videotape herself doing a striptease to turn on her too-honorable beau. It seemed like the only way to initiate the wild affair she longs for-- until the steamy video falls into the wrong man's hands.

He promised not to tell . . .

New York detective Duke Rawlins thought he'd seen it all until Amanda Matthews blazes across his television screen in little more than a garter belt. Although Amanda swears she had no idea her boyfriend was a white collar criminal, Duke is certain this uptown girl is hiding more than a penchant for naughty lingerie. He's determined to stay close to her until he uncovers all her secrets.
