"What happens when 'Oh Baby' becomes a code word? And what fun follows?"
Annie McCarthy left behind her dreams of meeting Mr. Right
six years ago because she did meet him, marry him and
agree to a quickie divorce. The waitress in an all-night
diner soon received $250,000 and could finally pursue her
dreams of owning a small town Wisconsin Bed and
Breakfast. But, the biological clock started ticking and
there was no right man in sight. So, Annie became
artificially inseminated. Oh, and that one other thing:
she told everyone in town that big lie. That she had a
husband in the CIA who worked uncover most of the time so
he wouldn't be around much. His name was Nick. Enter Nick Fleming the adventure writer who married Annie
six years ago. Only problem is he's engaged to a
beautiful model and just found out he's still married to
Annie. He decides to go to Annie to ask her to finalize
the divorce. Only he finds her so much more tantalizing
than his model wife to be. Then comes a snooping Mr. Lewis. Nick, Annie and her best
friend Minnow find it all suspicious and come up with the
code of "Oh baby," whenever something was up. In the end
it turns out... now I can't ruin the story. What happens from there is that two people discover things
about themselves, their hopes, their dreams and what it
means to really love another person fully. Pamela Ford does an outstanding job of creating a
believable hero and heroine. Nick is admirable. I can't
tell you why or I'll ruin the rest of the story. But,
he's one of the few good guys left on this planet earth.
Annie is sweet yet a heroine who can stand on her own two
feet -- despite being a single mother to be. I think this
positive romantic adventure will create vivid pictures in
the minds of readers -- each will come away with their own
opinion of what really happened between Nick and Annie.
But when Nick and Annie finally come together, I'm sure
readers will come away saying, "Oh baby!"
