In El Paso, Jesse Chapman and Katie Bloom were close
friends as he kept her safe from bullies and an
indifferent mother while she simply loved him in spite of
his bad boy image. When Jesse left the city to become a

last chance. Described by viewers as "doggedly unbendable,"
