Born to a rebellious mother on a planet where dark, petite women cultivate lust for other women, Kyla's life has never been easy. A six foot tall, blue-eyed blond, more than her looks stand out. Kyla has no urge to couple with other females. Instead she lusts for Eros, the son of her planet's most accomplished healer. After yet another beating at the hands of her Uncle as punishment for her sister Susoma's failure to return from her woman journey to Earth, Kyla realizes the time is right for her to flee. Kyla knows that wherever she goes, she and her Night Cat companion will be hunted down.

Eros has always known he is different from other Telmiran males. It is his duty to celebrate male lust, yet Eros is torn by dual desires. While refusing to be intimate with another male, he cannot disregard his desire to be mounted. Nor can he deny or explain his lust for Kyla. When Kyla asks him to leave Telmira with her, he must decide which path he will follow, that set out by Telmira law, or the path his heart urges him to take.
