Avery Beck

I've crafted compelling fiction since age five, when I played school with my best friend and sent home a "teacher's note" that got the poor girl in trouble. It seems natural that my two passions, writing and studying relationships, have found an outlet in the form of romance novels. I'm fascinated with exploring the *something* that draws two people together, and I hope to share with my readers the humor, fun, drama, and best of all, joy of falling in love. I'm thrilled to have earned two nominations for one of the industry's highest honors, Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart Award. I am a member of my local RWA chapter as well as The Golden Network, where I serve as webmaster. I write short, sexy contemporaries, and I believe life is not complete without the pursuit of dreams and an intense roll in the hay...or wherever one feels inclined to roll. Other fun facts: Where are you from? Though originally from Missouri, I have been a Texan for many years. In the words of a popular bumper sticker, I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could. Don't you appreciate the advantages of a steady paycheck? I am way too restless to spend ten hours a day in a cubicle. The mobile lifestyle of a writer and her laptop suits me very well. Besides, I don't know that my overactive imagination and tendency to get bored with reality would fit in the realm of steady paychecks... So does that mean you stay home and play on the computer all day? Uh, no. The husband, house, and two boys keep my hands full until the blissful silence of bedtime. Then I play on the computer. What's the quickest way to your heart? Hazelnut coffee and anything related to Nickelback. Not necessarily in that order. |
