Karen White
![]() After playing hooky from school one day in the seventh grade to read Gone With the Wind, Karen knew she wanted to be a writer-or become Scarlett O'Hara. Soon after, Karen cut her teeth on her first gothic, Lord of the Far Island by Victoria Holt. That soon led to quickly devouring every gothic she could find including her all-time favorite, Rebecca, by Daphne duMaurier. Living in London at the time, she begged her parents for trips to Cornwall where, according to her reading, a spooky old house perched on every cliff top. These experiences fueled her desire to write but, in spite of her aspirations, Karen pursued a degree in business and graduated with a BS in Management from Tulane University. Leaving the business world to stay home with her children, Karen wrote her first book, In the Shadow of the Moon which was a two time RITA finalist in 2001. Falling Home is her third novel. When not writing, Karen spends her time reading, singing, playing the piano, carpooling children and avoiding cooking. She lives outside Atlanta with her husband, daughter and son. |
